Home 4:30 pm.<br \/>\nIn evening \u2013 to Reverend N.J. Thompson\u2019s Residence. Met Reverend &amp; Mrs Hugh Hooper of St. John\u2019s Rectory, North Vancouver. Had chat &amp; left at 10:30 pm. Received invitation to Hooper\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>German warship \u2013 Leipzig \u2013 sinks British steamer Banksfields which had a cargo of sugar value $500,000<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>*SMS Leipzig \u2013 A Bremen Class German cruiser named after the city of Leipizig. The ship spent much of the early part of WWI along the coast of Mexico and South America attacking British merchant ships.
