About 1:30 PM the enemy shell our dugouts.  One shell passes over mine, &#038; smashes the one in front to pieces.  In all about 50 shells are put in.  They shell the Cross roads, &#038; also the Arras-Bethune Rd to a nicety, dropping them right in the center of road.  A new shell is used with a sulphuric nose cap additional &#038; shrapnel bullets embedded in a sulphuric paste.<br \/>\nAt night we blow up two mines (1:30 am) &#038; occupy the [cops?].
