Fort so take trip up to front line for observation &amp; sketching. Pass thro\u2019\u00a0 La Folie Wood down Staubwasser Weg to concrete dugout wherein lie much S.A.A. and large Trench M. ammunition.\u00a0 I sketch all villages in view, Avion, Mericourt, Acherville &amp; Douai Cathedral.\u00a0 All small churches are destroyed.\u00a0 Many fires in villages<\/p>\n<p>Enemy working mines. Trains moving in his rear.\u00a0 Balloons ascending in Mericourt.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy shelling all round.<\/p>\n<p>I visit H.Q. at Vimy. Met Capt.
