Mercer.\u00a0 The pilot is untouched but shaken.\u00a0 Machine a total wreck.\u00a0 Struck large tree in descent.<\/p>\n<p><em>*Shellshock was the blanket term applied by contemporaries to those soldiers who broke down under the strain of war\u2026. Military authorities often saw its symptoms as expressions of cowardice or lack of moral character.
