SQUAMISH COMMUNITY: OUR PEOPLE, OUR PLACES online program presents historical photographs chosen from an exhibit presented at the MONOVA (formerly NVMA) in 2010. This was a shared project of the MONOVA and the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). The Squamish Elders and Language Authority chose these photos to represent local landscapes, the community and individuals. They also contributed to exhibit research.

Throughout this online program you will read terms that are of the Indigenous language. For example, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw is the Indigenous translation for Squamish Nation.
