Sensory Friendly Sundays
A quieter, relaxed opening time for neurodivergent visitors of all ages.
A quieter, relaxed opening time for neurodivergent visitors of all ages.
Sensory Friendly Sundays offer neurodivergent individuals, their families and caregivers the ability to visit the museum on the second Sunday of every month. Visitors will enjoy a calm, relaxed and safe atmosphere.
On Sensory Friendly Sundays, adaptations will be made to the exhibits, such as lowered lighting and sound adjustments for a more relaxed visit. A quiet space will also be available for visitors who need a break.
As part of your visit you will have the use of a Discovery Pack. These packs contain some things that may help your visit:
In January 2022, Canucks Autism Network ran two trainings for MONOVA staff which included strategies for supporting individuals and families on the spectrum.
Canucks Autism Network believes that every community should take action to include and support individuals on the spectrum, and we are thrilled to be working in collaboration with them.
Everyone is welcome and no advanced booking is required. Plan your visit.
