Hats On for Garibaldi Glacier
The women climbers are pictured on the glacier near Mount Garibaldi in 1910, the year of the inaugural B.C. Mountaineering summer camp.
They all wear boots, puttees, and wide-brimmed hats with netting. The netting could be pulled down to protect the face and neck from the sun’s rays as well as insects.
