Garibaldi by Steamship and Rail
Mountaineers take advantage of available conveyance to haul themselves and their packs to their beloved lofty haunts. By the 1920s the government-built Pacific Great Eastern Railway joined up British Columbia from Squamish to the Cariboo district, conveniently passing Daisy Lake and other stations near Garibaldi Park. Climbers from Vancouver could pack their bags at home, and arrive at the mountains’ feet by steamship and rail.
