Carter’s Map
Neal Carter and his companions spent two weeks in 1923 climbing peaks to the north of the newly-established Garibaldi Park. Carter brought along his home-made surveying equipment to produce this map for the mountaineers’ 1924 summer camp. Shown are locations of the PGE railway, the trail up Cheakamus River to Cheakamus Lake, and the route up Singing Creek to the camp location at Avalanche Pass, elevation 1,674 meters.
