Exploring History with MONOVA’s new Zoom Backgrounds
Our new Zoom backgrounds will add a touch of community history to your next virtual meeting.
Our new Zoom backgrounds will add a touch of community history to your next virtual meeting.
Like many of you, we’ve been spending a lot of our time during the COVID-19 pandemic on teleconferencing platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. As we continue to do our work and connect with the community in safe ways, these digital platforms have been a lifeline, allowing us to stay connected to colleagues, family and friends.
Back in May 2020, we launched a series of Zoom backgrounds showcasing some of our Archival images, old postcards, and some images from the Archives of North Vancouver. We were blown away with the response! The Zoom backgrounds were very well received, and we were thrilled to see them used by a number of community groups, citizens and elected officials.
Now that we’ve launched the new MONOVA brand, we wanted to provide the community with an updated set of Zoom backgrounds. This new collection includes a number of images from the Archives of North Vancouver as well as renderings of the new Museum of North Vancouver opening later this year.
We encourage you to use these backgrounds in your next virtual meeting! And, if you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions for other backgrounds, don’t hesitate to let us know on our social media channels. Happy Zooming, everyone!

We respectfully acknowledge that MONOVA: Museum and Archives of North Vancouver is located on the traditional lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations, whose ancestors have lived here for countless generations. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, work and learn with them on unceded Coast Salish Territory.
