Stayed all night at YMCA. Aunt Alice ill in bed with Hemorrage. Leave Derby for Bolton via Manchester at 3.30 pm. Reach Bolton at 7.30 pm. Stay the night.
Friday 12 April 1918
I go on leave to Leicester, Derby & Liverpool. Call at Rothley Rectory (Rev. Jones). Run through the Register there. Have lunch with family & leave afterward for Derby to visit Aunt Alice.

I make application for leave to Canada for 3 months. Gave application to Capt. Rix, OC, C. Coy, Canadian Forestry Corps.
