Over to Engineers re draughting board & blue prints. About 1:30 PM the enemy shell our dugouts. One shell passes over mine, & smashes the one in front to pieces. In all about 50 shells are put in. They shell the Cross roads, & also the Arras-Bethune Rd to a nicety, dropping them right in the center of road. A new shell is used with a sulphuric nose cap additional & shrapnel bullets embedded in a sulphuric paste.
At night we blow up two mines (1:30 am) & occupy the [cops?]. Few casualties.
