Left Ramsgate 10 am arr London 12.3. noon. Had dinner @ YMCA.  Went by 1.45 pm train for Kettering & 5:15 for Leicester arr Leicester @ 6.5.  Stayed @ Aunts.  Meet Fred who is in Khaki.  Gone away @ 8:50 for Beckingham.

Leave Leicester @ 8.25 am. Arr. Derby 9.40 am.

Up a @ 8 am. Went Leicester Library.  Had dinner @ Aunts.  Left Lei. @ 2.25.  Arr London 5 pm.

To London Bridge by tube in station. Left L. Bdge 6.21 pm.  Arr. Ramsgate 9.8. pm

To Seagrave by train @ 9:45. Called to see Maud & May & went on to Seagrave with Maud by bike.  Back to Leicester by 1:44 (left 1.22).  In evening to Palace Theatre with Daisy, Mrs. Cook & Mrs. —.

Missed the 11:50 (Lime St.) am by 2 minutes. Confound the luck!  Harry, Gert & Jenny Mac to see me off.  Next train @ 2 pm.  In meantime we go to Walkers Art Gallery to see Canadian war pictures.

Leave @ 2 pm for Stafford. Forget to change @ Crewe. Am taken on to Rugby 5 pm.  Take train from Rugby 4:55 pm.  Arr. Staff 7:30 pm.

Wednesday 18 July 1917

@ 8 am going to business where Mrs. Draycot is. After chat I to see solicitor Bigg at 15 Friars Lane.  Not there.  Go to Police Court where he is.  I call him from the court & talk with him in passing re my bro Chester Draycot.  Ask him to send telegram to O.C.  Hosp. Ramsgate.  Leave 5/- with Officer [Boyton Telg.].  To see Miss Southam at 11 am.  AT 12:30 to Wilson Restaurant for cup of café with Daisy.

To dinner @ 1 pm with Daisy & Elsie. Back to see Mrs. Draycot.  Say goodbye & take train to Liverpool 2:42 pm.  Arrive L’pool after change @ Manchester.

Call at Uptons, all @ home. To Harry’s at 10:30 pm.  He just arrives home from Hospl.
