I call on Mrs. [P…l] re buying back chairs etc. She agrees to sell. Jack Nye has a visitor from Nanaimo who goes to Daisy Lake.
Everyone is hostile at Mrs. Graham’s conduct and her unpatriotism. Also Mrs. Pinnell’s.

Mr. Nye & Mr. Sharpe met me @ stn. with auto & drive up to my home.  I stay @ Mr. Nye’s at night.  Up @ 8 am & go down to my home.  It looks dilapidated.  Mrs. Graham left a fortnight ago for England & Eileen left a week ago.  There are only bare tables & chairs & stove.  No provisions.  Mr. Jack Nye gives me invitation to stay at his place till my place is in ship shape order.  I accept.

Mrs. Graham has loaned her gramophone to Mrs. Pinnell.  Why not loan it to me? After doing her good services.

Lovely scenery among the mountains.  Breakfast at 7 am.  There are two dining cars on (one attached at Winnipeg).  Our names have appeared in the Daily Province Vancouver so they know we are coming.  Arr. North Bend 9.15.  Given a cup of tea & packaged cigarettes free – English people.  Arr. Mission Junc.  Great reception – fruit, cigarettes, R.C. priest has his boys (Indians) lined up in Stn.  Girl Guides also turned out with large Union Jack.
