Aunt is no better. Have a cup of tea brought to me by Milly. Have a good time all together. I leave by the 4:30 pm train for Gosport on a ticket which is two days old and after much dodging I arrive at Gosport

Wednesday 17 February 1915 – Rain (Ash Wednesday)
Annie brings up a cup of tea and morning paper.
Introduced to Miss Whites. Anne, Milly, Miss Whites and self go to theatre at night.
Tides are high. The river Avon has risen 7 feet in height.
My Aunt is no better.
Lieutenant Price and Captain Fitzgerald of Princess Pats are killed.
Tuesday 16 February 1915 – fine
Left Wylde Green at 9 am. Arrived at Birmingham at 9:30 am.
Left Birmingham at 9:45 for Bath, arrived in Bath at 12:15
Met at station by Anne [Laurie] and Millicent Humphreys (my cousin)
Aunt is lying seriously ill but able to recognise me, has been in bed 10 weeks.
Annie, Milly and self go to the theatre at night. Home at 11:30 pm
Monday 15 February 1915 – fine
Left Seagrave at 8:30 for Sileby in the pony and trap of Miss Kathleen Knight. Arrive Leicester at 9:30 and said good bye to Fred Draycot and Nancy. Boarded the 10:55 train for Birmingham.
Arrived at Doctor White’s at 1 pm and have chat all afternoon with Mrs White.

Saturday 13 February 1915
MacDermot calls at 9 am. I say goodbye to Harry and leave then off to Liverpool Midland Station. Call at photographers and get photos. Back home again and say good bye to Mr Draycot and Simcocks, take the 12:20 train for Leicester via Manchester (Grand Central Railway). Arrive at Manchester at 1:20. Leave 2:15 pm.

Wrote letters till noon. At 3 pm I visit Miss Amie Burrows at West Derby. She was a friend of Sister Martha. Stay till 5 pm then on to Harry’s and Upton’s at 6:30 stayed home till 11:35 pm. Harry sits up till my return.

Visit Cotton Spinning Mills of Harwoods between 1 and 3 pm with Cousin Tom. Tea at 3:30 pm and walk down to Station with Mrs Draycot and take train (4:35 pm) for Liverpool. Family chat with Harry and Simcocks till midnight.

Take the 4.5 [sic]pm train for Bolton to see JW Draycot. Arrive at 5:55 pm, and met at station by J.W.D. Grand reception. Introduced to William Draycot (son) and wife, Thomas (son), Edith (daughter). Afterward shown William’s Bank, City Hall, JW’s school where he is headmaster. We have great talk at night till midnight.

In morning I go to town. Have photos taken. On to Knotty Ash to see Sister Craig at the Hospital.
Entertained greatly. Had tea with Mr McLaughlin (Fanny Craig), Sister Craig, and Sister Noddings. Leave at 6 pm. On to Uptons and stay till 11:30 pm
