Early Days

In the early 1900s, the British Columbia mountains were considered remote and dangerous. However, a few Vancouverites ventured to the local peaks; this group reached the top of Grouse Mountain in 1903. Most are wearing everyday clothes; high socks and boots are their only concessions to climbing conditions.
