Paradise Camp

By 1916, annual summer camps were well-established affairs and much anticipated by their participants. This group photograph was taken in the alpine meadows near Mount Garibaldi, a favorite site for the B.C. Mountaineering Club’s camp. Club members were enthralled by this beautiful area; their efforts to preserve it led to the establishment of Garibaldi Park in 1920.
