Garibaldi’s Top

The peak of Mount Garibaldi, considered the highest peak near Vancouver, looms above the party that claimed the first recorded ascent of the mountain in 1907. Previous attempts had ended in failure. The success of this expedition created considerable stir in the local press, and inspired local enthusiasts to form the B.C. Mountaineering Club several months later.
