Wartime Peace

There must have been something about the effort of climbing, the brilliant mountain air, the warm sunshine, or the breathtaking view that brought on the sense of tranquility and contentment that fills this photograph. A mountaineering camp took place at Glacier National Park in 1942, despite the events of World War II, and brought these women climbers some moments of appreciated peace.

John T. Biller photo. BCMC 30-16.
